1909-11 T206 Piedmont Christy Mathewson DARK CAP PSA 7 NRMT

**Auction #12, Round 2** Superb Dark Cap example of one of the greatest to ever grace the mound. The offered T206 Mathewson lies within a highly sought after PSA 7 holder and easily represents one of the finest copies we've had the privilege of brokering in our long tenure. Rarely is this card seen with such crisp edges along with four sharp and beautifully preserved corners. The fragile periphery is crisp, the sky blue backdrop really pops and the clarity is precise. Everything is where it's supposed to be when upholding the lofty assessment. Mathewson, known as 'The Christian Gentleman' is exceedingly popular among hobbyists and investors due to his upstanding reputation and tremendous talent. Christy captured the NL's pitching triple crown in 1905 and again in 1908 - leading the circuit in wins, strikeouts and ERA. An incredibly rare and highly sought after card which seems poised to bring a nice ROI over the years. One of over 24,000 cards, lots and sets up for bid in our 12th Auction of 2020. Marketplace Trust

Safeguarding the integrity of bidding on our auctions is our highest priority. For the trading card marketplace to function effectively, the honesty and integrity of the participants must be ensured. Collectors deserve a legitimate marketplace, free from manipulation by the auction house, consignors, friends of consignors, friends of the auction house, or anyone else who seeks to exert artificial influence on the sale price.

For details of the procedures we use to monitor our Marketplace, please refer to our website under the Marketplace Tenants tab.

Commitment to Purchase

Placing a bid in our auction demonstrates a commitment to complete the purchase. Any buyer who does not pay for an item will be permanently blocked from bidding with PWCC and reported to eBay.

Payment Options

In addition to paying direct through eBay, PWCC is proud to offer several additional options to enable easier payment for auction winnings including the option to submit cards to one of our auctions in lieu of payment. Please contact PWCC with any questions about these payment options.

PWCC Return Policy

Returns are only accepted if an item is misrepresented in the auction title, description, images, email, or phone communication. Buyer's remorse is not a valid reason for return. We strive to be reasonable in the event of a disagreement and ask that buyers afford us the same level of fairness. Misrepresentation of an auction item is exceedingly rare.

We at PWCC are not professional graders so we trust in the reputation and opinion of 3rd party professional graders. Professional grading is subjective and different 3rd party graders will often disagree over the grading on a single card. Such a disagreement is not a justifiable reason for a return with PWCC.

As a broker of graded trading cards, our responsibility is the accurate description and delivery of the item advertised; not to guarantee how a graded card will be assessed by different grading company. Any issue a buyer has with a card's professional grade should be addressed with the company that graded the card.

Auction Integrity

Safeguarding the integrity of bidding on our auctions is our highest priority. For the trading card marketplace to function effectively, the honesty and integrity of the participants must be ensured. Collectors deserve a bidding environment that is 100% legitimate and free from manipulation by the auction house, consignors, friends of consignors, friends of the auction house, or anyone else who seeks to exert artificial influence on the sale price.

Bid Monitoring

PWCC proactively monitors the behavior of bidders. We reserve the right to contact bidders who place bids outside the guidelines outlined below, and in some cases, we will choose to cancel bids and block bidders from participating in our auctions.

  • All bid retractions and cancellations that violate eBay’s policy are reported daily to eBay. eBay reserves the right to enforce its policies.
  • Any username with recurrent bid retractions across the eBay platform will be blocked from participating in further PWCC auctions.
  • "String bidding", or placing a series of sequential bids at the minimum bid increment, can be perceived as bid manipulation because the practice allows a bidder to expose the maximum bid of another bidder without becoming the high bidder himself or herself. Any instances of string bidding will be flagged by our team. In cases of clear manipulation, string bids will be cancelled and offenders will be blocked.

We ask that the bidding community assist us in identifying concerning bid behavior on any of our auctions. Please notify PWCC of any suspicious behavior by sending an email to our bid monitoring team. Contact information can be found on our website under the “Buyers” tab. Thank you for helping us ensure the integrity of the marketplace.
